Accreditation. State accreditation. International accreditation (the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating IAAR).
Awards and achievements. Every year the Pediatrics program is listed among the best educational programs of innovative Russia.
Students are winners and laureates of all-Russian research contests (all-Russian Olympiads on pediatrics, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology) and creative contests (Student Spring) and holders of personal scholarships from SamSMU and the Samara Region.
Teaching staff. Training is provided by 33 Professors, 56 Associate Professors, 49 Assistants, eight Assistant Professors, including G. Makovetskaia, Honored Worker of Science of the RSFSR, Professor Emeritus of SamSMU, Professor (the founder of the academic and research school of pediatrics); F. Gilmiiarova, Honored Worker of Science of the RF, Professor; R. Galkin, Honored Doctor of the RF, a two-time laureate of the RF Government Award, Professor; and L. Mazur, Worker of Higher Education of the RF, Head of the Department of Hospital Pediatrics, Professor.
Learning outcomes. Students are ready to carry out practical activities in the workplace based on their knowledge, reflection, values, analytical skills and participation in training practical healthcare workers.
Facilities and resources. The departments are located in two academic buildings, at the university clinics, and at 23 clinical facilities. Modern simulation technologies at the federal accreditation center are used.
Research. Neurosciences and neurointerfaces, biochemistry, all fields of pediatrics and pediatric surgery, and infectious diseases. The university has two active dissertation councils for pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology; neurology, infectious diseases, and medical informatics.
