Teaching staff. The program is delivered by 63 teachers, including six Doctors of Sciences (Professors) and 29 Candidates of Sciences. The teachers improve their qualification every year. Representatives of the real sector of the economy such as programmers, IT specialists, information systems developers are engaged in teaching. Facilities and resources. The electronic information educational environment, state-of-the-art information technologies, specialized software.

Education. Active and interactive forms of training such as computer simulations, business games and role plays, case study, psychology and other workshops are used as part of the competency-based approach. Experts and specialists give master classes in natural sciences and engineering education. Special emphasis is placed on practical training. The specialized department established in conjunction with the Scientific and Technological Center of Unique Instrumentation of the Russian Academy of Sciences, plays a key role in it. Training is provided based on close interaction between the educational process and research. Students take part in Russian and international conferences and work at research centers abroad. The university encourages young researchers’ participation in innovation activities by providing administrative and financial support for science and technology innovative projects as well as information exchange and discussion of cooperation opportunities as part of youth integration projects.

Research. The institute has five scientific schools studying current issues in mathematical modeling and computational mathematics, including the wave theory of catastrophes, mathematical and computer modeling of electromagnetic wave propagation, focusing and scattering in the tasks of telecommunication, positioning, radio communications, radiolocation, radio navigation as well as in remote sensing of natural and artificial environments. Most of the research is conducted in cooperation with the institutions and universities in the Moscow Region and includes a wide variety of processes based on computational mathematics and new cybernetic approaches related to studying theoretical and mathematical fundamentals, methods, means and technologies of modern informatics, programming, artificial intelligence and other related sciences and practices.

Competitive advantages. Students undertake internships at federal research institutes, multidisciplinary companies and organizations fitted with state-of-the-art computer and laboratory equipment. The university develops the continuing IT education system and delivers continuing professional education programs.
