Accreditation. State accreditation. Professional-public accreditation. International accreditation of the Information Technologies in Design major (Bachelor’s program).
Awards and achievements. Students take an active part in the WorldSkills Russia championships in the FutureSkills competencies. Students get grants and personal scholarships from the Saint Petersburg Government and won the contest “Instrument Engineering, Metrology, Information Measuring Instruments and Systems” for the best research paper. Teaching staff. Sixty-five percent of the teachers hold academic degrees and (or) academic titles. All teachers carry out research, teaching and guiding and (or) practical activities.
Facilities and resources. The department has some specialized laboratories fitted with state-of-the-art computer and multimedia equipment, including the laboratory of media technologies and computer-aided design, the computer modeling laboratory, the computing laboratory, the information technology laboratory, the information and networking technology laboratory. They allow for R&D of any degree of complexity as well as for teaching students.
Education. Project-based learning, participation in the Olympiads (IT Planet) and competitions for the Saint Petersburg Government Award for graduation projects done on an assignment of the executive authorities of Saint Petersburg), in the Young Professionals (WorldSkills) movement, in international research conferences.
Research and projects. The department conducts research on computer-assisted control of nonlinear objects, computer modeling of moving object control, digital data processing, statistical processing and transfer of images, networking technology and information management systems, multimedia technologies and virtual reality, simulation modeling of intelligent systems, infocommunication systems control, development and automation of business process maps, processing of fuzzy temporal information in relational databases.
Competitive advantages. The highly qualified teaching staff and the leading scientific schools. Graduates are well trained in IT and are in demand in the job market. They can pursue Master’s and PhD degrees and undertake internships at the enterprises.
