Accreditation. State accreditation. Professional-public accreditation.

Awards and achievements. Every year students speak at the international conferences. They have honorary diplomas from the International Society of Automation ISA. The teachers win the contests for the best fundamental research projects and get the RFBR grants.

Teaching staff. The degree-granting department employs 33 teachers, including five Doctors of Sciences, Professors and 14 Candidates of Sciences, Associate Professors. Among them are the laureates of the Russian Government awards and the founders of scientific schools. The heads and leading specialists of the real sector of the economy related to software engineering are engaged in the teaching process. Their rate is 30% of the department’s teaching staff.

Facilities and resources. The degree-granting department has three classrooms fitted with state-of-the-art computer equipment and multimedia equipment, and a specialized educational laboratory of embedded systems.

Education. Bachelor students pursue full-time and extramural studies. The Master’s program offers only full-time studies. The educational programs focus on the methods of design of software systems for various purposes, including the fields of rocket and space equipment. Accordingly, they develop the competencies related to system analysis, knowledge formalization, artificial intelligence systems, neural networks, big data technologies, and other modern areas.

Research. As part of the degree-granting department’s research areas, the university conducts contract-based R&D and implements the RFBR projects to design software for space object monitoring systems. The research findings are regularly published in the monographs and leading scientific journals.

Competitive advantages. The Software Engineering programs focus on software design technologies using a modern software engineering methodology, which facilitates graduates’ adaptation to working at various enterprises. The effectiveness of this approach is confirmed by the analysis of the performance of graduates holding senior positions at the major companies focusing on the industrial development of software. Almost all graduates are employed in their field of study.
