Awards and achievements. Students take an active part in top all-Russian contests “My Contribution to Grandeur of Russia,” all-Russian congresses of young researchers,” the Olympiad “I am a Professional,” the National Technological Initiative student track “Aerial
Robotics,” WorldSkills Russia championships in FutureSkills competencies in the categories of Operation of Unmanned Aircraft Systems and Aerial Robotics, have silver and bronze medals of all-Russian university championships in 2019-2021. The Master student of this program was listed among the best gradutes of Russia in 2021.

Teaching staff. Over 90% of teachers at the department hold academic degrees. Training is provided by both eminent professors and young researchers and representatives of transport and research enterprises in Saint Petersburg.

Facilities and resources. The laboratory of intelligent transportation infrastructure, the laboratory of unmanned aircraft systems, the laboratory of transport logistics, the laboratory of system analysis. New research facilities and systems have been introduced to train Masters.

Education. Bachelors and Masters gain both theoretical knowledge and practical research and project skills. Students attend international specialized field-specific lectures and seminars conducted in English.

Research. Students have an opportunity to conduct full-cycle research, from the idea to practical research at the department laboratories, on the research airfield for modeling unmanned cargo delivery systems. Emphasis is placed on simulation modeling of transport
processes and constructing digital twins of transport system sections. Masters solve research tasks of predicting the development of transport processes and systems, develop the projects of information programs and systems for the transport industry, take an active part in competitions and get grants to implement their projects.

Competitive advantages. Unique research equipment, highly qualified teaching staff, practice-oriented training, FutureSkills development, big data skills development, implementation of one’s own research projects and startups in the field of transport, international internships and exchange as part of First+ programs, summer schools with the opportunity to attend original international courses in English such as Project Management and Aerial Robotics.

Employers and employment. The graduate employment rate is 91%. Internships and work placements at transport enterprises give an edge in choosing a relevant topic for a graduation thesis and finding a job in one’s degree field.
