Students from all over the world come to Russia. Russian universities place special emphasis on adaptation of first-year students. We will tell you about this in the new HED issue.

For some majors, there is postgraduate education for deeper immersion in future professions. PhD degree is the final stage of higher education for academic staff training.

In cooperation with the Russian House in Ulaanbaatar, we have prepared the most important information for applicants from Mongolia: why Russia is attractive to Mongolian students, how they can get admitted to Russian universities.

The project is implemented by the Open Education Center in the Russian language "Siberia.ru" with grant support from the Ministry of Education of Russia. In 2020 and 2021, more than 2,500 applications from over 80 countries were submitted.

Every year the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia and Rossotrudnichestvo announce admission of foreign citizens, stateless persons and compatriots living abroad to study at Russian universities in state-funded places within the quota.

Foreign citizens can take entrance exams held by the university even if they have valid results of the Unified State Exams. The admission office will take into consideration a better result.

Every year the Russian Government allocates quota (free for students) places for Mongolian young people to study at Russian universities. There were 600 such places this year.

In 2022, we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the day when the first Mongolian students were admitted to Soviet and Russian universities and more than 100 years of diplomatic relations between our friendly countries.

People mostly search for the information on Russian universities on social media platforms4, from relatives and friends, on the website of the Ministry of Education of Mongolia, radio and TV.

The first multilingual magazine about Russian education for international applicants Higher Education Discovery (HED) is on its way to Vietnam. The HED special issue containing the information on admission of Vietnamese citizens to Russian universities.
