Admission

International applicants can apply to one institute and for one study program.

Required documents:

1. Identity document (the original document and a notarized translation of the first page into Russian + 1 uncertified copy)
2. Academic credential with transcripts (the original document and its notarized translation into Russian if the document was issued by the foreign organization)
3. Academic credential equivalence certificate
4. Personal data processing consent

Foreign citizens applying for first-year admission to Bachelor’s studies take a Russian language test (written test and interview) and major subjects tests.

Foreign citizens applying for fee-paying places sign paid educational services contracts with the university and pay their tuition fees.

Department of Foundation Studies

Pre-university training is the most important stage of familiarization with the study and living environment in Russia. The period of study at the Department of Foundation Studies is the first step in adaptation to a new language environment and preparation for studying the basic subjects of the educational program.

Pre-university training is provided in the following study areas:

• Engineering
• Economics
• Medicine and Biology
• Humanities

Duration – 10 months (September 15–June 30).

• The group includes 6-10 students. The groups are formed when students come. Students from various ethnic groups study together.
• Each student group has its own advisor.
• An eventful extracurricular life. Students visit museums, exhibitions, historic sites in Belgorod and the Belgorod Region.

Arrival and adaptation

BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov has the support system helping foreigners to adapt successfully and as easily as possible to the living and study environment in Russia.

So, foreign citizens coming to study at the Department of Foundation Studies are supported by the university agents who are speakers of a national language. The agents closely cooperate with the chairpersons of compatriot associations as well as the university administration. This helps efficiently solve any issues and overcome the difficulties that arise.

If necessary, foreign citizens coming to study in Bachelor’s, Specialist’s and Master’s programs seek assistance from the Center for International Education and Cooperation and the chairpersons of compatriot associations who help newcomers to adapt at the university free of charge.

The specialists of the Center for International Education and Cooperation provide assistance in execution of documents and further representation of international students’ interests.

The university staff members strive to create the most comfortable learning and development environment for international students. The university regularly hosts sports and mass cultural events such as Russian Student Days, home concerts, poetry parties.

Internship and employment

BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov has the Center for the Promotion of Employment of Graduates, staff members of which provide support and assistance in job search or industrial work placement.

• Employment of recent graduates at the top enterprises in the Belgorod Region and Russia
• Industrial work placements and internships for gaining practical experience in their degree field
• Temporary employment in student construction brigades. In such brigades, students acquire professions of asphalt  paving worker, concrete worker, mason, bar bender, painter/plasterer
