Pirogov RNRMU is a leading medical university in the Russian Federation that trains physicians, pharmacists, clinical psychologists, social workers, and research staff.

Training is provided at the university clinics established at the leading medical centers in Moscow and at the clinical departments that are a part of the university.

RNRMU is the only Russian medical university that has current international double degree programs.

Preparatory courses

Pirogov RNRMU trains students from foreign countries so that they can pursue higher and postgraduate education at our university or any other Russian universities.

Every year the preparatory courses of our university bring together attendees from more than 30 countries. They study the Russian language, physics, chemistry, and biology.

List of documents required for admission

  • Application
  • Passport or any other document confirming identity
  • Visa (for citizens of countries that maintain a visa regime of entry and stay in the territory of the Russian Federation)
  • Academic credential. The foreign academic credential is:
    • for admission to the first year of study – the document confirming at least secondary general education or secondary vocational education
    • for admission to Master's programs – the document confirming a higher education degree of any level) recognized in the Russian Federation
    • for admission to residency programs – the document confirming at least higher education (Specialist's degree, Master's degree) recognized in the Russian Federation
  • Certificate of foreign education recognition in the territory of the Russian Federation if such a certificate is required when submitting the document issued in a foreign state
  • Referral from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education to study within the quota established by the Russian Federation Government (if any)
  • Copy of medical certificate confirming the absence of medical contraindications to studying, Fluorography picture, HIV, HBs, HCV tests
  • Voluntary health insurance policy which is valid in the territory of the Russian Federation
  •  Notarized translation of all foreign documents into Russian

Arrival and stay

Moscow is the largest transport interchange hub of Russia. You can get to the city in different ways. International students usually come by plane.

You can get from the airport to the university by bus, commuter train, metro, or taxi. The taxi fare is 1,000 – 2,000 RUB.

Climate

The climate in Moscow is mid-continent.

  • Summer is warm and rainy. The average temperature is +22-24°С in the daytime and +12-14°С at night
  • In winter, Moscow has a rather high snow cover. The average temperature is -5°С in the daytime and -10 С at night

However, extreme warm and cold spells also occur. In summer, the air warms up to +30 °С. In winter, the temperature reaches -30 °С, though rarely.

Average expenses

  • Accommodation costs 25,000 – 30,000 RUB per month
  • Travel using a student's social card costs 850 RUB per month
  • The dormitory fee is around 1,900 RUB per month

Accommodation

International students live together in one dormitory building. It is located within walking distance of the main university building and the nearest metro station.

The comfortable dormitory has everything you need, including an ensuite bathroom, a kitchen, and self-study rooms.

Adaptation

Tutor movement helps first-year students adapt.

  • Group tutors always keep in touch with students and help them solve any problems that arise

Council of communities is the largest international student association at Pirogov RNRMU
