Kurgan State University offers not only a high-quality education but also a unique opportunity to feel part of a large Russian family.
The Humanities Institute of Kurgan State University has recently hosted a vibrant celebration—the Day of Slavic Writing and Culture. The event featured not only Russian students but also international students from the preparatory department.
The teachers and students from the Department of Russian Language, Literature, and Mass Communications organized an exciting quest for the participants. Instead of attending boring lectures, the teams solved crosswords, charades, and pictorial puzzles. The international participants didn’t just play—in an easy and engaging way, they learned the history of the Slavic alphabet, the secrets of the ancient letters "az," "buki," and "izhitsa," and the rules of the Russian language that will come in handy in their studies.
But that’s not all!
To get a feel for the local life and traditions, the students put together a "Russian Izba" (Izba is the traditional log house of rural Russia) puzzle and even learned how to cook the famous borscht (beetroot soup), choosing the right ingredients for the dish.
Why is It Worth Going to Kurgan?
