NArFU is one of the ten Russian federal universities, the largest research and education center in North-Western Russia. Admission of foreign citizens

• Within the Russian Government quota with scholarship support regardless of academic progress. Students to fill the quota are selected by the Rossotrudnichestvo's representative offices/Russian embassies in the applicant's country of residence. They can apply for a scholarship at education-in-russia.
• On equal terms with Russian applicants as part of general competitive selection for state-funded places based on the results of entrance exams (for citizens of CIS countries)
• On a fee-paying (contract) basis if NArFU's internal entrance exams are successfully passed.

Future of the Arctic

NArFU’s annual international multidisciplinary Olympiad for foreign citizens from the CIS countries.

• The Olympiad participants get bonus points when applying to NArFU for Bachelor’s/Specialist’s programs
• All participants are awarded certificates. Winners and prize-winners get first, second and third place diplomas

The Olympiad of Federal Universities for Master’s Degree Applicants

The Olympiad winners get the opportunity to enroll in state-funded places at NArFU without entrance exams within the Russian Government quota.

Foundation Program for Foreign Citizens

The program prepares applicants for pursuing professional Bachelor’s, Specialist’s, Master’s, PhD programs taught in Russian.

Scholarships

• The First-Year Student 5.0 scholarship for foreign citizens from the CIS countries– 5,000 – 10,000 RUB per month is awarded to those applying for Bachelor’s programs if they have a high total score in the entrance exams or an honors diploma/certificate.
• Academic scholarship: up to 4,500 RUB per month
• Increased scholarship: up to 15,000 RUB per month

Dormitories

• are provided for all international students
• 14 well-furnished dormitories in the center of the city are within walking distance of the university: a kitchen, a shower room, a laundry room, free Wi-Fi, a recreation room, a study room, etc.

Unique NArFU Projects

Digital Arctic IT Park

The IT space for students comprises 15 state-of-the-art virtual laboratories, student startup offices, robot testing grounds, workshops, and hybrid classrooms.

Here, NarFU students implement their projects on machine learning, robotics, big data, artificial intelligence, develop cloud computing technologies, engage in industrial design and 3D modeling, and participate in cybersport events.

Arctic Floating University

It is an annual scientific and educational expedition at the high latitudes. Students and teachers on board a research vessel attend lectures by Russian and foreign professors and conduct practical Arctic research in real-world conditions of the Northern seas.
