Admission
- Foreign citizens take entrance exams held by the university. They have the opportunity to apply within the Russian Government quota. When preparing for the interview, they should show authentic motivation to study in Russia in their chosen field to obtain a quota place.
- The university also hosts international competitions, such as "Debut in Science," the winners of which are awarded up to 5 extra points for individual achievements when applying for Bachelor’s programs and 2 points when applying for Master's programs. Portfolio requirements may vary depending on the program, but the university generally takes into consideration certificates for participation in field-oriented Olympiads, research conferences, and sports competitions.

Preparatory Faculty
USUE offers pre-university training to prepare foreign citizens for further study at this university or other universities in Russia.
Tuition fees for the 2026-2027 academic year depend on the area of study:
- Economics - 130,000 RUB
- Medicine - 155,000 RUB
- Engineering - 140,000 RUB
- Humanities - 140,000 RUB

Study formats: offline, online, and blended learning
Many programs allow students to combine study and work. Students are accommodated in the dormitories.
Studying and Practical Training
USUE offers Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD, and continuing education programs.
The main language of instruction at the university is Russian, but there are also English-taught programs, including the Master’s programs in International Business and Management in Tourism and Hospitality Industry.
The university’s distinctive feature is practice-oriented education. From their first years of study, students participate in case championships, project activities, and internships at partner companies. Among the employers and university’s partners are banks, retail chains, manufacturing companies, IT companies, government agencies, and international organizations.
USUE is actively developing its employment and work placement database: students can undertake an internship or find temporary employment through the internship and work placement service on the information portal, as well as through the USUE-SINH Alumni Association, which offers job openings and internship positions from more than 90 partner companies across the country.
International Cooperation

Bachelor’s program in Business Informatics
The program’s specific feature is the integration of business processes and information systems at the corporate level.
Students develop their skills in programming, systems analysis, and IT project management. They have the opportunity to undertake work placements and internships at major Russian companies, such as MTS, and at the IT,
marketing, finance, and sales departments.
The acquired knowledge is demanded by IT architects, data analysts, digital project managers, and product managers.
International graduates of the program are sought after both by Russian IT companies and in their home countries. They can also continue their education to build an academic career.
Adaptation
- USUE has an active Student Council, which organizes university-level events, helps international students adapt, and represents their interests when dealing with the university administration.
- The International Cooperation Department staff and mentors from among senior students provide comprehensive support during adaptation.
- For international students, the university has a branch of the International Students Association, which helps in dealing with issues related to the learning process, living conditions, recreation, medical care, and legal and social protection. The president of the association is Georges Kawa Mahomy from the Republic of Guinea.
Student life
- Students participate in organizing First-Year Student’s Day, festivals of national cultures, intellectual games, charity events, and city youth forums.
- Creative life: vocal and dance ensembles, a drama school, KVN (Club of the Funny and Inventive) teams, a media center and student media outlets, photography clubs, and creative associations.
- Research activities: international and all-Russian scientific conferences, case championships, business games, Olympiads, and startup and entrepreneurial project competitions. Students can work in science clubs and research laboratories in cooperation with teaching staff. Many students publish research articles and participate in grant projects while studying.
- Sports activities: volleyball, basketball, futsal, track and field, table tennis, fitness, and weight training clubs.
- Volunteering
- Student teams: their members gain work experience in service, teaching, event management, and tourism. This helps them acquire professional skills and make extra income while studying.
