In the course of study, students acquire skills of research work, analysis of acquired information, systematization of the acquired information with the help of up-to-date laboratory equipment and computers. According to the standards of higher education, students undergo academic and working practice in botany, zoology, microbiology, genetics and specialized disciplines.
Students acquire deep knowledge in virology, mycology, parasitology, molecular biology, genetic engineering, immunochemistry and biotechnology; this makes the University’s training quality internationally recognizable. Senior students conduct patent work and experimental research, which are documented and defended in the form of graduation thesis. Graduates have an opportunity to complete their education in master’s courses.
Competitiveness of students. The students of the “Microbiology” programme win prizes of national and international competitions and Olympiads. Specialists in microbiology work with microorganisms (laboratory diagnosis of infections, development and production of vaccines, sera, diagnostic systems and antibiotics, laboratories of food, chemistry, oil producing and refinery industry enterprises, agriculture and others).
