Programme presentation. The study programme “Quality Control in Consumer and Service Industries” is delivered at the Department of Merchandising and Quality Control of the RSUE. The programme is based on a balanced combination of technical and economic disciplines and gives a student the opportunity to develop a comprehensive view of the activity of an enterprise. The requirements of employers of both major and small business enterprises of the South Federal District are taken into account. For this purpose students’ work experience and a number of technical and economic disciplines are carried out in specialized laboratories of the Department. The work experience and pre-degree practices are conducted in the units responsible for quality and other departments of the regional enterprises.

Teaching staff. The experienced and qualified teaching staff of the faculty ensures high level of education. Most teachers of the Major Department are acting auditors and experts in the sphere of quality. All teachers take an active part in research work and maintain close relations within the Association of Economic Universities of South and Eastern Europe and the Black Sea region – ASECU and Vyshegrad University Association. Teachers have prepared and implemented lecture courses in English in “Total Quality Management” within the framework of the double degree programme.

Competitiveness of students. Graduates’ education and training combines technical knowledge in the sphere of quality with theoretical training in the field of quality management as well as practical skills of assessment of conformity, standardization and sustainable development of enterprises. Upon graduation, a Bachelor is given a special title «Bachelor-Engineer» in addition to the main qualification. Students with the knowledge of English take part in summer schools of the Association of Economic Universities of South and Eastern Europe and the Black Sea Region– ASECU, which are held in Poland, CzechRepublic, Greece and other countries.

Interaction with employers. The Major Department maintains close relationships with Rostov Centre for Standardization, Metrology and Certification, JSC “Donekspertiza”, the Chamber of commerce of the Rostov Region and many small and medium-sized enterprises in the service sector. During the period of training students visit JSC “RSM”, CJSC “Baltika”, LLC “Coca Cola HBC Eurasia” (branch in Rostov-on-Don), CJSC “Rostovgazoapparat”, PO “Bastion” and other enterprises.
