Current position in rankings. In the academic year 2017-2018 NCFU was ranked 29th among 288 in the national university ranking and 13-14th in the university ranking of the Vladimir Potanin Foundation.

Awards and achievements. The Bachelor's and Master's programs in Social Work successfully underwent international professional-public accreditation (Certificate №1341-08-А039.4) in 2015.

Teaching staff. The academic degree holders ratio is 81.8%. Nine percent of the teaching staff have an academic degree of Doctor of Sciences. In 2018, Tomaž Deželan, the leading professor of the Faculty of Social Sciences of University of Ljubljana, was also engaged in the educational program implementation.

Facilities and resources. NCFU has all the required facilities and resources that provide a comfortable learning and social environment for students and develop their personal and creative potential.

Research. The teaching staff of the department develops the following promising research areas: theory and methodology of higher professional education, professional activities of a specialist in social work with a family, psychosocial family support, social protection system management, social policy in modern Russia, etc.

Education. The following technologies are actively used: workshops and playing technique, case study, e-learning, interactive research practical training, interactive lectures, etc. For physically challenged students adaptive learning technologies and models are applied.

Strategic partners. The department cooperates with the Faculty of Social Sciences of University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), RussianStateSocialUniversity (Moscow) as well as with the regional social organizations.

Competitive advantages. The advantage is an out-of-class work oriented at students' practices. Since 2012, the department has been traditionally holding seminars with the participation of practitioners of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the StavropolTerritory, the Stavropol Territorial All-Russian Organization "All-Russian Society of Disabled People," etc. The Master's program in Economics, Law, Organization and Management in Social Work is bilingual and its disciplines are taught both in Russian and a foreign language.

Assistance and support for foreign students and teachers. NCFU established the Department of International Cooperation for internationalization of the educational and research process.
