Accreditation. State accreditation.
Awards and achievements. The program underwent external expert evaluation (the Guild of Experts in the Sphere of Professional Education and the National Center for Public Accreditation) and was recognized as the best program as part of the annual project Best Educational Programs of Innovative Russia. BSMU took part in the independent and objective evaluation of students’ knowledge, co-hosted the Olympiad “I am a Professional” in 2021 and hosted the Nizhnevolzhsky Cluster Pharmacy Olympiad. Also, the students became winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad “I am a Professional” in 2021. In November 2023, the program underwent a specialized accreditation according to WFME international standards. In 2023, the faculty entered the Top 5 pharmaceutical faculties in Russia in the RAEX Russian Universities Ranking.
Teaching staff. The faculty comprises seven departments that employ 30 Professors, Doctors of Sciences, including 8 Doctors of Pharmaceutical Sciences, as well as 19 Candidates of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The teachers are participants of international scientific programs and members of editorial boards of medical journals and dissertation councils.
Facilities and resources. The departments are located in a separate building of the Faculty of Pharmacy. Students undertake all kinds of internships at the university clinic’s pharmacy, the compounding pharmacies of Bashfarmatsia of the Republic of Bashkortostan, municipal pharmacies of Ufa, and companies such as Farmland, Pharmstandart-UfaVita, and Microgen. Students undertake educational pharmacognosy internships at the South-Ural Botanic Garden-Institute, the Herbs of Bashkiria company, the VILAR North-Caucasus Regional Experimental Station, and the Raduga (Rainbow) Plant Collective Farm (the Republic of Crimea).
Learning outcomes. The best students are awarded the Russian President Scholarships and the Russian Government Scholarships in the priority national projects. Graduates can continue their education by pursuing Master’s, PhD and residency programs.
Research. The faculty is famous for its innovative approach to interdisciplinary research and its scientific developments. Research is conducted in the field of production of new biologically active substances based on vegetable drugs and chemical synthetics, development of new drug dosage forms. Pharmacological, pharmacoeconomic, and pharmacoeconomic studies are also conducted. Over the years, 17 Doctors and 83 Candidates of Pharmaceutical Sciences have been trained. As part of the Priority 2030 program, the staff members of the Department of Pharmaceutical, Analytical and Toxicological Chemistry are developing a radiopharmaceutical agent jointly with their industrial partner MedInvestGroup.
Competitive advantages. Students undertake educational internships and work placements at the pharmacies of Bashfarmatsia of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Pharmstandart-UfaVita, Microgen with state-of-the-art analytical equipment, South-Ural Botanic Garden-Institute, the Institute of Botany of the Republic of Abkhazia (Sukhumi). Since 2021, the faculty has been delivering the Master’s program in Industrial Pharmacy, where Master students can undergo practical training at Pharmstandart and Microgen.
Career prospects and employment. The university’s cooperation with top regional enterprises creates the opportunities for students to find a job in their degree field. Students can combine their studies and work, starting from the fourth year.
