Current position in rankings. In 2018 the university was ranked 12th among 54 HEIs subordinate to the Ministry of Agriculture of the
Achievements and awards. The program was recognized as one of agrarian education leaders by the Guild of Experts in the Sphere of Professional Education and the National Centre for Public Accreditation. The university successfully implements the certified quality management system.
Teaching staff. The academic degree holders rate is 94%, the percentage of Doctors of Sciences is 35%. The faculty employs two Corresponding Members of the
Facilities and resources. The university has state-of-the-art facilities and resources: a laboratory of agricultural chemistry, a laboratory of soil science, an environmental laboratory, centers for shared use of state-of-the-art scientific equipment.
Research. The main research areas include development of environmentally-friendly gardening technologies; experimental and theoretical foundations of the use of the flow structure of agroecosystems in precision farming; development of biotechnology to enhance the productive and adaptive capacity of potato based on effective integration of plants with rhizospheric microorganisms.
Education. The university uses a module-rating system, state-of-the-art technologies, multimedia equipment for lecture halls. There is an electronic educational environment which comprises all necessary methodological papers on the program disciplines. Students undertake educational internships and work placement at the best regional enterprises.
Strategic partners. The university cooperates with enterprises such as Schelkovo Agrohim LLC, PhosAgro-Oryol LLC, BASF and research centers such as the All-Russian Research Institute of Legumes and Groat Crops, the All-Russian Research Institute of Fruit Crop Breeding.
International projects and programs. The university participates in the Erasmus+ program, the IAMONET RU academic mobility program, cooperates with DAAD — the German Academic Exchange Service.
Competitive advantages. The teaching staff is highly qualified. The strategic partners participate in the program development and invite students for educational internships. They are potential employers of graduates, and their representatives are members of state examination boards.
