Achievements and awards. The program underwent state accreditation in 2020.
In 2015 the program underwent professional-public accreditation carried out by the Association of Engineering Education of Russia for five years. This program is marked with the European quality label EUR-ACE.
Students are participants of the annual UMNIK contest and winners of the Klyuchavto scholarship program.
Teaching staff. The academic degree holders ratio is 78%. The department employs eight Doctors of Sciences. The representatives of regional motor transport enterprises are engaged in the development and implementation of the educational program.
Facilities and resources. State-of-the-art information technology training aids, specialized laboratories with required modern benches and other equipment for laboratory works in all disciplines of the program.
Research. Diagnosis and operation and maintenance of cars; research on wear resistance in abrasive media of various materials, operating elements of machines, interface parts, equipment components; lifetime extension of springs in high-speed transport vehicles; transport system safety management.
Education. The department trains highly qualified personnel for operation of transport and technological machines and complexes to improve safety and efficiency of their operation and to develop methods and engineering tools for diagnosis of motor vehicles; methods and means to evaluate the efficiency of transportation processes; improvement of personnel performance at motor transport enterprises in the current context of development of the Russian motor transport complex.
Strategic partners. The department cooperates with the following enterprises of the sector: the Stavropolskoe 2 motor transport enterprise, Enterprise 1564, Trailer-KAMAZ, Servis-Oil, Gazprom transgaz Stavropol, Rus-Avto LLC, etc.
Competitive advantages. The department boasts state-of-the-art laboratory equipment, highly qualified teaching staff.
Assistance and support for foreign students and teachers. Internationalization of the educational and research process is one of NCFU's top priorities and is a strategically important vector of the university development. NCFU established the Department of International Cooperation.
