Achievements and awards. Graduates are heads of enterprises and organizations such as: RZD JSC, High-Speed Rail Lines. Students hold scholarships of the RF President, the RF Government, the SPb Government, CEO – Chairman of the Executive Board of RZD JSC.

Teaching staff. The program is implemented by over 120 teachers (over 75% have an academic degree) including members of expert, coordination, science and technology councils under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Ministry of Transport of the RF, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the RF, RZD JSC, public chambers, heads and specialists of the All-Union R&D Center for Transport Technology, VNIIZHT JSC, and other research organizations.

Facilities and resources. 22 research laboratories, 9 testing centers and 2 innovative enterprises; the laboratory "Microprocessor-based control systems for electric rolling stock" is equipped by National Instruments, the world software leader.

Research. The leading scientific school of St. Petersburg; the choice of technical and economic parameters and a cost-effectiveness rationale for innovative train carriages; development of innovative rolling stock and technologies based on magnetic levitation; the following projects: “The high-speed passenger and freight railway corridor “Eurasia;” “The Saint Petersburg — Moscow — Kazan High-Speed Railway,” etc.

Education. 210 years of educational traditions; state-of-the-art digital technologies: Solidworks, Medyna, virtual textbooks, laboratory works, etc.; supplementary education programs; author's classes of top companies.

Strategic partners. The Association of Sino-Russian Technical Universities, over 400 enterprises: Siemens AG, National Instruments, RZD JSC, etc.

International projects and programs. The Eltrans symposium; the Maglev/Innotrans conference (Berlin); 124 cooperation agreements with foreign academic partners – the European Diploma Supplement, double degree programs, study placements. As a part of the Erasmus+ program the project “High-Speed Railway Transport. Infrastructure, Economics, Ecology” is implemented in cooperation with the universities of Russia, Germany, Spain, Poland, and Kazakhstan.

Competitive advantages. 8 dormitories, a gym, a swimming pool, a clinic and a geological facility; specialized sports clubs and artistic collectives, a fine arts studio, the KVN, 12 student production brigades, volunteering; financial assistance for students: enhanced scholarships, grants, etc. Over 97% of students undertake internships and get employed at major enterprises.

Assistance and support for foreign students and teachers. Pre-university training for foreign citizens (applicants), summer/winter schools, a comfortable learning and living environment for foreign students.
