Awards and achievements. In 2016 these educational programs successfully underwent international professional-public accreditation carried out by the National Centre for Public Accreditation.
Teaching staff. The educational program is implemented by 22 teachers of the department including Doctors of Sciences (14%) and Candidates of Sciences (64%). Visiting specialists representing employers are also engaged in the teaching process.
Facilities and resources. The university has all the required facilities and resources that provide a comfortable learning and social environment for students including the LOGOPEDiYA specialized laboratory with state-of-the-art equipment.
Research. Since 2011 the department staff has been working within the framework of the research area "Methodological support of psychological and pedagogical counseling for physically challenged people in the context of the education system modernization."
Education. The following technologies are actively used: problematic lectures, seminar-discussions, seminar-studies, profession-oriented practicals, project training methods, gaming technologies, workshops, etc.
Strategic partners. The university maintains business relationships with leading Russian and foreign HEIs: Moscow State University of Psychology and Education, Southern Federal University, the Northern (Arctic)

Competitive advantages. The teaching staff is highly qualified and experienced. The university cooperates and shares its experience with leading Russian and foreign organizations in the field of education of physically challenged people. Practice-oriented education has been introduced.
Assistance and support for foreign students and teachers. For internationalization of the educational and research process, which is one of the university's top priorities, the Department of International Cooperation was established.
