International Summer School HSE University – St. Petersburg

The Summer School offers foreigners the opportunity to

• get acquainted within a short period of time with the learning process at HSE University – St. Petersburg and the best courses in finance and economics, political science and international relations, design, and media communications
• immerse themselves in the world of a wonderful urban culture: river and canal tours, exploring the old center of the city, visiting Peterhof and other architectural masterpieces

While studying at the Summer School, participants are accommodated in the dormitory of HSE University – St. Petersburg.

Duration: 2 weeks – 1 month

Russian Language and Culture course

Depending on their proficiency level, candidates can attend the beginner course (А1-А2) or improve their language proficiency (В1-С1).

Classes are conducted at the university buildings or online, depending on the study mode. Those wishing to apply for participation can get various discounts, including the Early Bird discount and the group discount for students of the same university.

The Ways to Enroll at HSE University – St. Petersburg

1. In 2024, HSE University – St. Petersburg offers 160+ state scholarships from the Russian Government for foreign citizens

State scholarships are awarded by the HSE University’s Selection Committee based on the recommendations of educational programs. The scholarship covers 100% of the tuition fee.

• For Bachelor’s degree applicants – based on the results of entrance exams
• For Master’s degree applicants – based on the portfolio competition and the interview with the educational program

2. Olympiads

• The International Youth Olympiad and Vysshaya Proba – for Bachelor's degree applicants
• Open Doors: Russian Scholarship Project from the Global Universities Association and Top League – for Master's degree applicants

Successful participation gives international applicants the right to study at the university for free in a chosen field of study using the Russian Government scholarship.

3. Partial grants for foreign citizens

The grants covering 25-70% of the tuition fee are awarded to foreign citizens based on their total score in the entrance exams or the portfolio competition.

4. Applying through Rossotrudnichestvo

You can get a quota place if you apply on the website education-in-russia.com and undergo selection at the Russian House in your country.

In 2024, HSE University – St. Petersburg offers 35 places to apply for through Rossotrudnichestvo.

Nota bene! To get a quota place at HSE University, you should also pass entrance exams at the university.

To apply for participation in the HSE University's competition, you should register in the International Applicant's Personal Account and upload the document package. You can take entrance examinations online and offline. Registration in the Personal Account will be available from November 1, 2024.

Comfortable living and study environment

• International students having a state scholarship from the Russian Government are accommodated in the dormitories of HSE University – St. Petersburg
• Students, who study on a contract basis or have partial study grants, have the opportunity to get accommodation in the university dormitory as well
