International Friendship Club in the Belgorod Region Sums Up its 2025

The International Friendship Club in the Belgorod Region was founded at the Peoples’ Friendship Center of Belgorod State University in September 2023 in coordination with the Ministry for Youth Affairs of the Belgorod Region. Throughout its existence, the club has united 698 members from 29 countries. Most of them come from Angola, Egypt, India, China, Colombia, Morocco, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Ecuador. Among active members of the club are winners and prize-winners of regional and international competitions, forums, and Olympiads, including six BelSU students who are prize-winners of the International Olympiad in Russian as a Foreign Language.

The club’s major events in 2025 were:

  • The Christmas charity event aimed at raising gifts for the Children's Oncohematology Department of the Regional Children's Hospital, members of the Warmth of the Soul society for children with disabilities, and residents of the Emerald City palliative care center;
  • The Christmas charity concert for Russian and international students;
  • The culinary journey "Bread is a Miracle of the Earth" featuring the preparation and tasting of bread and pastries from 12 countries;
  • The Palette of Languages three-day marathon dedicated to the International Mother Language Day. The marathon included debate on translation, linguistics workshops, and a concert in ten languages.
