In October, Colombo, the largest city in Sri Lanka, hosted a roundtable discussion as part of the working visit of specialists from Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University. It brought together graduates of Russian higher education institutions as well as medical practitioners. The event was organized and held by the Russian House in Colombo.
Nadezhda Bylova, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Vice-Rector of Pirogov University for International Affairs, Director of the Institute of Global Medicine, talked about the educational opportunities offered by Pirogov RNRMU. She presented Master’s, residency and PhD programs in detail. Ms Bylova noted that foreign citizens can apply within the Russian Government quota as well as under paid educational services agreements. According to Ms Bylova, the most interesting programs are programs related to the study of neurotechnologies, genome, and artificial intelligence as well as gerontology and pediatrics programs.
She also covered in detail the University’s developments in the field of rehabilitation of patients with nervous system disorders and the creation of breakthrough therapy that treats Bekhterev’s disease effectively.
