A renovated Russian language multimedia classroom has at the Russian House in Colombo. The event is dedicated to the 225th anniversary of Alexander Pushkin, after whom the classroom is named.
The opening brought together the members of the League of Russianists of Sri Lanka, teachers at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture, leading philologists from all over the island, and heads of Russian language departments at Sri Lankan universities.
The Russian language classroom of the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Colombo has witnessed such a large-scale renovation and technical re-equipment for the first time since 1992. The flow of people wishing to take language courses is on the increase. Many young Sri Lankans sign up for them not only to get acquainted with Russian culture, but also to get higher education at a Russian university and facilitate their adaptation in a new country.
