Moyo Honest Mpume , Zimbabwe. Graduate of the Pre-University Foundation Program

My first year in Russia, that I spent studying the Russian language and traditions, was the most memorable year in my life. In the beginning, it seemed to me that I would never learn this difficult language with its unusual fricatives, "r" pronounced with a roll, cases of nouns and verbal aspects. But thanks to our wonderful teachers, who not only taught us with textbooks but also cultivated our love for Russian culture, I felt this beautiful language deeply and learned several poems by great Pushkin. I think that MAI is one of the best places to study the Russian language and continue your education in Russia.

Koule Gael Lemba, Congo. Second-year Bachelor's student majoring in Economics

When I came to Russia, it was difficult for me to make friends because of my ignorance of the Russian language and the new environment. I thought that this would be difficult, but I was wrong. I met excellent people at the university, including Africans, Asians, and Russians. Russian guys often came up to me, asking me about my home country and its New Year traditions. I was pleased to see their interest in other culture. Regular meetings with my friends helped me master Russian. They always were here beside me to boost my knowledge and help me with my problems.

Tamboura Se Dit Inna Samba, Mali. First-year Bachelor's student majoring in Aircraft Engineering

MAI is known as the leading hi-tech university in Russia that offers engineering training and conducts cutting-edge research. It values diligence, persistency, and discipline. Although I know many universities in different countries, MAI won my heart and mind. I dreamed of learning how to build an aircraft and understand how they fly. During a short period of time spent at this university, I got many answers to my questions.

Balekua-Madzo Bonher, Congo. Graduate of the Master’s program in Aircraft Engineering

I undertook an internship at the TS Technik company where I was responsible for aircraft maintenance. Now I am finishing my Master’s degree and planning to go back to Congo to work for a national airline. I am grateful for my professional experience in Russia. I wish all African students good luck with studying the Russian language and their adaptation to life in Russia. This is a difficult but very interesting journey.
