Rossotrudnichestvo Expands Russia’s Cultural and Humanitarian Presence in Africa

On September 16, Rossotrudnichestvo will sign agreements with non-governmental organizations that will represent the partner Russian Houses in Guinea, Somalia, Sierra Leone, the Central African Republic, Chad, and Equatorial Guinea.

The ceremony will be attended by the Head of Rossotrudnichestvo Yevgeny Primakov, Head of the Russian Trade Company Vladimir Khokhlov (Equatorial Guinea, Malabo), President of the Russian House Cultural Center Safia Ahmat Ibrahim (Chad, N'Djamena), President of the Russian House LLC Dmitry Sytyi (the Central African Republic, Bangui), Executive Director of the Regional Non-governmental Organization “Center for Scientific and Cultural Events in Public Diplomacy” Natalia Krasovskaya (Guinea, Conakry), Director of Pushkin Center Somalia Hared Abdifatah Mohammed (Somalia, Mogadishu), Chairman of the Board of the Russian Heritage Foundation Dmitry Degtyarev (Sierra Leone, Freetown) as well as representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, embassies, and other interested organizations.

The participants will discuss prospects for the development of the network of partner Russian Houses worldwide. After signing new agreements, it will include 15 countries such as Algeria, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Iraq, Mali, Niger, the United Arab Emirates, Sudan, Thailand, Guinea, Somalia, Sierra Leone, the Central African Republic, Chad, and Equatorial Guinea and will help to expand Russia’s cultural and humanitarian presence abroad.
