Programme presentation. Petroleum Engineering is one of the priority areas of education and training in Tyumen State Oil and GasUniversity. All classrooms are equipped with modern multimedia facilities. To increase the effectiveness of education and competence of students there is a full-scale drilling simulator Drilling Systems DrillSim-50006, computer classroom for practical training using modern softwareLand mark, Drilling Office, etc. and specialized research and educational laboratories equipped with modern Russian and foreign appliances. Drilling system FDS-350 is purchased to conduct research work in “Technology of Formation Drilling” and “Technology of Drilling Solutions”.

Teaching staff. The leading teachers who deliver the educational programme have academic degrees and sufficient work experience in the appropriate area of industry and in conducting research projects. Under the guidance of these teachers, students successfully take part in scientific conferences and Olympiads and win prizes. So, the Department of Drilling Oil and Gas Wells annually conducts All-Russian Olympiad for HEIs in “Management of Drilling Process”.

Teaching staff regularly improves its qualification by undergoing trainings at oil and gas enterprises and in profile educational institutions including foreign HEIs in England, Germany, the USA and Sweden. A number of teachers participate in the projects of oil and gas education programmes’ implementation abroad, in Kazakhstan and China.

Interaction with employers. The educational programme is developed and agreed in cooperation with potential consumers – regional employers. A lot of them take an active part in the educational process by delivering lectures, supervising research work and practice, carrying out academic advising for graduate qualification works.

Practical training of Bachelors is carried out through integration of the university with corporate customers and expanding the bases for practice and employment of graduates. Strong partnerships are established with the following leading regional companies: JSC “Sibnefteprovod”, LLC “Gazprom transgaz Surgut”, JSC “Gazpromneft-Tyumen”, LLC KSU “Sibnefteprovodstroi”, LLC “Gazprom transgazYugorsk”, LLC “TyumenNIIgiprogaz”, etc.
