Programme presentation. The sphere of graduates’ activity includes design of clothes, shoes and other products of consumers good industry for various purposes using modern computer design technologies; creating , updating , designing and technological preparation for production; national and foreign design systems, applied in individual and serial production of clothes; design of various accessories (shoes, fancy goods, hats, gloves, belts, corsets, etc.); creative interaction with designers and technologists for creation of rational design.
The educational process is carried out in special classrooms of applied anthropology, design of clothes, shoes, leather goods, hats, technology of wearing apparel, leather and footwear goods, as well as in computer classrooms for automated design of goods and technological processes modelling. The Departments have training laboratories equipped with the main types of universal and special facilities, which are used by students for processing and production of goods. The University provides a unique opportunity to undergo further training in the Educational Centre of Textile and Clothes within the author programmes of teachers (3D design of clothes, technology and design of auto-mated embroidery, mastering software packages, etc.) Student can undergo internships and be placed for work experience in
Teaching staff. At the Major Departments there are 31 teachers including four Doctors and 22 Candidates of Sciences, Honoured Artist of the RF and Honoured workers of Higher Education of the
Research activity of teachers and postgraduates is aimed at solving relevant problems of sewing, footwear and leather industries. All teachers perform active creative and project work and improve their qualification. The developments of the Departments in the field of 3D automated design obtained a wide recognition.
Competitiveness of students. Traditionally, students take part and become finalists and prize winners in numerous international contests of young designers “Admiralty Spire”, “Breath of Spring”, etc., and contests of footwear and accessories designers at the exhibitions “MosShoes”, “Podium-Prestige”, ”LineaPelle Award Russia”, etc.
