Current position in rankings. The university is listed among leading HEIs in the Design study field group – it was ranked second among HEIs of the Russian Federation in 2018 (Quality monitoring of admission to Russian higher education institutions of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, the Federal Service for Supervision of Education and Science, National Research University Higher School of Economics).

Achievements and awards. The institute was often highly appreciated for the quality of graduates’ competence by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Union of Designers of Russia, the Union of Architects of Russia. It receives letters of appreciation from the President of the Union of Architects of Saint Petersburg, Director General of the Koltushi Construction Company, Director General of Architectural Systems, Executive Director of the North-Western Logistics Company, and others.

Teaching staff. Bachelors (majors: Environmental Design; Design of Interior, Furniture and Equipment) are trained by Professors and Associate Professors of the degree-granting department. The teachers actively participate in exhibitions, conferences, contests, are members of the Union of Designers of Russia, the Union of Artists of Russia, the Union of Architects of Russia and have their own creative workshops.

Facilities and resources. Computer classrooms and lecture halls are equipped with multimedia. There are specialized classrooms for classes in academic drawing, academic painting, academic sculpture and plastic modeling and classrooms for projects.

Strategic partners. The university cooperates with the Committee for Architecture and Urban Development, the Committee for Science and Higher Education of the Government of Saint Petersburg, the Union of Architects of Russia (exhibitions and discussions of student works, joint seminars).

Strategic partnersare personal creative workshops such as Zemtsov, Kondiajn and Partners, Studio 44, Architectural Systems, the Projector architecture studio (ECSTO LLC), etc.

International projects and programs. Students of the institute participate in creative contests at Higher School of Kaiserslautern (Germany), South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (Kouvola, Finland), the Estonian Academy of Arts (Tallinn), etc.

Competitive advantages. Students annually become prize winners of the contest for the award of the Government of Saint Petersburg for the development of graduation projects by order of executive authorities of Saint Petersburg, the All-Russian scientific conference of young scientists “Youth Science Innovations,” design contests (AV Interior, Modulor, Architectural Image of Russia) as well as the contests held by employers such as North-Western Logistics Company, Sberbank of Russia, European Business Consulting Oy (Kotka, Finland), the Professional Rehabilitation Center in Saint Petersburg, creative unions.
