Teaching staff. The department employs two Professors, seven Associate Professors, three Senior Teachers, three Assistants. All the teachers are members of the Union of Artists of Russia, two of them are Honored Artists of the Russian Federation, twelve of them are laureates of all-Russian and international contests. The teachers participate actively in Russian and international exhibitions and contests, give master classes in the Union of Artists of Saint Petersburg and abroad.

Facilities and resources. The classes are conducted in modern lecture halls and laboratories in the academic building in the center of Saint Petersburg. Besides traditional artistic disciplines, students specializing in graphic arts master state-of-the-art computer programs. There is printing equipment required for reproducing prints. All students are accommodated in the dormitory. There is a sports and recreation camp in the Karelian Isthmus.

Education. Training is provided in the Easel Graphic Works major. The teachers use state-of-the-art approaches and technologies: project and research teaching methods, seminars, role plays and business learning games, information and communication technologies, the innovative evaluation system "Portfolio".

Strategic partners. The university cooperates with Saint Petersburg Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design, Belarusian State Academy of Arts, M. Auezov South Kazakhstan State University.

International projects and programs. The department hosts the annual International contest exhibition for teaching artists of HEIs “Creative AUTUMN.” It also co-hosts the annual International contest exhibition for students and young artists “Motherland, Faraway and Nearby.”

Competitive advantages. The department trains all-around graphic artists who are able to carry out teaching activities at a high professional level and fulfill artistic orders (interior painting, work on print series, creation of easel works in watercolor, gouache, tempera, work with graphic materials). Students of the department actively participate in scientific conferences, all-Russian and international contest exhibitions, become diploma winners and laureates.
