Achievements and awards. The teachers of the degree-granting department won the contest "Golden Names of Higher School – 2018." D.Iu. Levin, Doctor of Engineering Sciences, Professor of the Department of Field Operation and Transportation Safety Management, won the IV international contest "University Book – 2017" in two categories: For Productive Scientific and Publishing Activity and The Best Serial Publication.

Teaching staff. Training is delivered by the highly qualified teaching staff including 16 Doctors of Sciences, Professors, 42 Candidates of Sciences, Professors, 38 Candidates of Sciences, Associate Professors, five Assistant Professors as well as practitioners and heads of sectoral organizations.

Education. Student undertake their internship at enterprises of the Russian Railways company, at the Institute of Economics and Transport Development, Research and Design Institute for Information Technology, Signaling and Telecommunications in Railway Transportation (NIIAS JSC), at operator companies. Students participate in Russian and international scientific and practical conferences on railway logistics, in exhibitions and contests held by Russian University of Transport, the Russian Railways company, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, and in university and interuniversity olympiads of graduation theses. Students can get supplementary professional education according to the author’s class technology at the initiative of and on the subject proposed by the Central Directorate of Traffic Control, a branch of the Russian Railways company.

Strategic partners. The university cooperates with the Russian Railways company, the Centers for Management of Railways Stations, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, the Moscow Metro, the First Freight Company, the Federal Freight Company, the Independent Transport Company, the New Transportation Company, the Federal Passenger Company, the Central Suburban Passenger Company, the RailTransAvto logis­tics operator, the TransOil transport company, Railway Research Institute (VNIIZHT JSC), NIIAS JSC, the Institute of Economics and Transport Development. It also cooperates with specialized universities such as Emperor Alexander I St. Petersburg State Transport University, Ural State University of Railway Transport, RostovStateTransportUniversity, FarEasternStateTransportUniversity, SiberianTransportUniversity, SamaraStateTransportUniversity, IrkutskStateTransportUniversity.

International projects and programs. The students of  Institute of Management and Information Technologies took the first place in the category of Transportation Process Management on Railway Transport in the selection championship of Russian University of Transport World Skills Russia "Young Professionals – 2018;" were awarded the Business Hackathon winner diploma for the best solution of the case "Data Mining Service for Transport Systems." The postgraduate student of the Department of Field Operation and Transportation Safety Management A.A. Sukhov took part in the exchange program "Young Talents" with the Austrian Federal Railways (Vienna, Budapest, 2018). The student A. Liakhova is the winner of the contest "The Best Student Paper-2017" (the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation).
