Awards and achievements. In 2023, the program was recognized as one of the best educational programs of innovative Russia.
In 2023, the student science club showcased its achievements at the following conferences: the International Research Conference “Civilization of Knowledge: Realia;” the All-Russian Annual December Research and Practice Student Conference; the Inter-university Research and Practice Conference “Education and Pedagogical Science in the 21st Century: Problems, Trends, Prospects.”
Teaching staff. The Speech Therapy program is delivered by the Department of Special Needs (Correctional) Education that employs highly qualified teachers, including Doctors of Sciences and Candidates of Sciences, Professors, Associate Professors. The department’s teaching staff participates in grant activities.
Learning outcomes. Students learn how to efficiently use modern methods of speech disorders diagnostics and technologies of logopedic care for infants, pre-school and primary school-aged children with different speech pathologies as well as how to use modern technologies of psychological and pedagogical support for children with speech disorders and their parents in the context of inclusive education.
Facilities and resources. Classrooms fitted with specialized training equipment, training workshops, and the LogoMeridian development center.
Research. The department has a student science club. Every year around 30% of students conduct research. They participate in publishing articles and speaking at conferences at different levels.
Competitive advantages. The Department of Special Needs (Correctional) Education trains speech therapists in the field of providing logopedic care for children of different age groups with speech disorders in the field of education.
Career prospects and employment. Graduates of the Department of Special Needs (Correctional) Education work as teacher-logopedists at educational organizations (pre-school and school organizations, centers of psychological and pedagogical support for children and adolescents with developmental disorders as well as research organizations.
