Programme presentation. Education and training of highly qualified specialists in landscape architecture, who are capable of developing architectural, urban-planning, environmental, sanitary and hygienic spheres and of forming aesthetical and ecologically healthy environment, has been carried out in the University since 2009. Material and technical facilities include innovative laboratories (“Landscape Design”, “Ecological Monitoring”, “Soil Monitoring”, “Agrochemical Analysis”, etc.). Research schools are established. In 2014, the educational programme underwent state accreditation and international public-professional accreditation by the National Centre for Public Accreditation.
Teaching staff. There are 27 teachers at the Faculty, 25 of them are Candidates ofˇ Sciences. 92% of the teaching staff have academic degrees and titles. The delivery of three projects TEMPUS-TACIS “Net Water: A network of Master’s programmes in Water Resources Management” and “Further education in the field of the development of rural area and ecology” and Tempus GreenMa “Innovative technologies in energy saving and ecological control” allowed most of the teachers to undergo internships in Russian and foreign HEIs.
Competitiveness of students. The average passing grade of applicants in the Unified State Exam is 70. Students actively participate in the project Erasmus Mundus “Academic network of mobility with Russia” and the foreign internship programmes LOGO and APOLLO (Germany). More than 80% of students are involved in research work and, therefore, win national contests of graduation and course works, regional and national Olympiads and the grant programmes U.M.N.I.K and START.
Interaction with employers. Every year the basic educational programme is agreed with major regional companies and enterprises. Within contracts, the Faculty conducts research and practical conferences, seminars and joint classes, places students for work experience and internships and carries out professional development courses.
