Achievements and awards. The program has successfully undergone state accreditation.

The university has been traditionally participating in the International review contest of the best graduation theses on architecture, design and art of the Interregional Social Organization for Advancement of Architectural Education, the International festival of Eurasian schools of architecture, construction and design, the International festival "Art-Space Amur" (Blagoveshchensk), the International contest of graduation theses "New Ideas of the New Century" (Khabarovsk), the International festival "AvtoGr.A.D." (Naberezhnye Chelny), the International youth festival of architecture and art "Golden ArchIdea" (Tyumen) where our graduates' works are constantly awarded Cat­egory I and II diplomas.

Teaching staff. Training is provided by experienced teachers including practitioners in the field of architecture and fine arts. The heads of specialized organizations (37%) including Director General of the IST Architectural and engineering team and Director General of the Geoproekt engineering research company (Tyumen) are engaged in the teaching process. The classes are also given by visiting professors of Moscow Architectural Institute.

Facilities and resources. The department has a computer classroom with licensed software (Internet access), multimedia classrooms, drawing and painting workshops, required literature, information educational resources.

Research. Students are actively engaged in research within the research area of the department: "Regional peculiarities and problems of architectural space of cities and settlements of West Siberia."

Education. The program is supported by all-around pre-university training provided by the Center of Architectural Training and Retraining. Conventional academic and interactive teaching methods are seamlessly blended, the project method being the leading one. Students do term papers and academic year projects overcoming really existing challenges. The third- and fourth-year students undertake their summer internships in Saint Petersburg and Moscow.

Strategic partners.  The university cooperates with the IST Architectural and engi­neering team, the Tyumenproekt design company, the Workshop of architect A.V. Tabana­kov, the Geoproekt engineering research company,  the City Institute of House Design, the Grad engineering company, etc. and universities such as Moscow Architectural Institute, Novosibirsk State University of Architecture, Design and Arts, the Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning of Voronezh State Technical University, Saint Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Pacific National University, the Institute of Archi­tecture and Construction of Irkutsk National Research Technical University, the Faculty of Architecture of Belarusian National Technical University, the Department of Architecture of Local Cultures of Bialystok University of Technology (Poland), Brandenburg University of Technology (Germany), Northeast Petroleum University (China).

Competitive advantages. The university provides pre-university training. The teaching staff is highly qualified. Students have an opportunity to thoroughly prepare for and successfully participate in international contests. They also can compile a high-quality portfolio by the time of graduation.
