How to overcome difficulties when learning Russian

  • Communicate with native speakers
  • Watch movies and read books in Russian
  • Use up-to-date Russian language study guides

In 2024, the FESTU Summer School used new methods of teaching Russian for the first time:

  • Learning the language through familiarization with Russian cuisine and the traditions of Russian hospitality (with tasting of ethnic foods).
  • Learning the language using music (rhythm in music as well as repeating patterns in songs facilitate memorization of unknown words).
Sergei Sergeev, a social pedagogue at the FESTU International Student Office

It is very important for us that international students feel that we take care of them and attend to their needs from the first minutes of their stay in the hospitable Khabarovsk land. That is why I am personally in control of meeting all foreigners at the airport or railway station and I help them to get to the dormitory and arrange medical examination for them. In cooperation with the staff members of the International Student Office, we help young people to adapt to a new study and living environment at our large university.
