Sun Jianye, Chine

I have been living in Nizhny Novgorod for three years now. It immediately caught my attention with its beautiful nature and interesting history. It is really important to me that Nizhny Novgorod Conservatoire is one of the most successful conservatoires in Russia, with the best teachers. The city is very quiet and safe, so my friend and I really enjoy going for a walk and attending various cultural events. There is no time to get bored here, especially for me as a musician. Well-known performers often come here. And the city has become even more comfortable and interesting now.

International Music Olympiad

Glinka NNSC organizes the International Music Olympiad. It is held annually in March in seven study areas such as choral conducting, music pedagogy and performance, theory and history of music, orchestral folk instruments, string instruments, piano, and wind instruments.

The winners and prize-winners get the highest score in major subjects when taking entrance exams. In 2026, 3,402 young musicians from 55 Russian and foreign educational institutions took part in the qualifying round of the Olympiad.
