There are two ways to apply to VVSU:

List of documents:

• International passport + its translation into Russian certified by the consulate of the Russian Federation
• Academic credentials and transcripts legalized in accordance with the established procedure + their translation into Russian certified by the consulate of the Russian Federation
• Application form
• 3*4 photo
• Motivation letter (for Master’s/PhD programs)
• List of publications (for PhD programs)

Admission stages

• Pass entrance exams
• Get an invitation from the university and obtain a student visa to study in the Russian Federation
• Inform the university of your arrival date

NB You must get a medical screening in your country to enroll in the following Bachelor’s programs: Pedagogical Education; Physical Training; Technology of Transport Processes; Operation of Transport and Technological Machines and Complexes.

Pre-university training and adaptation

International applicants who do not speak Russian can enter the preparatory faculty to study the Russian language and the culture and history of the Russian Federation. After successful completion of the language course, applicants get a standard certificate and the right to continue their education by pursuing Bachelor’s and Master’s programs.

Three study areas:

• Economics
• Humanities
• Engineering

Distribution by study areas allows students to prepare for further studies in the chosen field.

The VVSU Preparatory Faculty starts with a traditional meeting at Vladivostok Airport. This is the first acquaintance with the city, teachers, compatriot students, and graduates of the Preparatory Faculty.

The teachers at the Preparatory Faculty take into account different levels of beginners’ preparation and that is why they fill their lessons with creative tasks and use interactive types of activities. For example, songs in Russian can be often heard in the classroom, and students watch movies and play role-playing and business games.

Starting from the first days, students not only attend classes but also take an active part in public life. Teachers and advisors familiarize students with the fundamentals of Russian culture and give Russian cuisine master classes.

The preparatory faculty life goes beyond the university walls. Guided museum and sightseeing tours in the city have become a tradition.  Students get unforgettable experience when visiting the opera and ballet theater, the oceanarium, and the safari park.

Unique campus

VVSU takes special pride in the campus which is located in the center of Vladivostok.

The special thing about the campus is that all educational buildings, dormitories, the theater and concert center, the advanced health clinic, the sports center, stores and canteens are connected by the general system of crossings. In bad weather or cold winter, there is no need to go outside because you have everything at hand.

The university is surrounded by the fantastic territory. Its concept is history, philosophy, and ecology. Here you can enjoy amazing compactness of the Japanese stone garden, the beauty of relic plants in the Ussuri taiga and visit Russia’s first monument to poet Osip Mandelstam. The campus open for the city people is one of the favorite places of Vladivostok residents.
