Teaching staff. The educational process involves six Doctors of Sciences and 11 Candidates of Sciences, many of whom used to be senior employees of St. Petersburg Institute for Informatics and Automation of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The specialized department of innovative design, entrepreneurship development and informatics of Leninets Holding Company ensures high-quality training of specialists.
Facilities and resources. The learning and teaching resources used by the department allow for practical implementation of advanced information technologies and learning technologies. The lecture halls are fitted with multimedia equipment. There are 11 modern display rooms. The state-of-the-art artificial intelligence laboratory is at the students’ disposal.
Research. The RAS Academician, Professor A. Aganbegian holds research workshops. Bachelor’s and Master’s students conduct research under the supervision of the RAS Corresponding Member, Director of the Institute of New Industrial Development, Professor S. Bodrunov. Many graduation theses are done in the form of startups. The main research area is application of artificial intelligence methods in socio-economic and humanitarian spheres.

Graduates gain profound knowledge in the field of artificial intelligence because the curriculum includes disciplines such as Mathematical and Theoretical Foundations of Artificial Intelligence; Mathematical Methods and Models in Management; Intelligent Information Systems; Big Data Processing Methods; Data Mining. The developed competencies in artificial intelligence technology will allow graduates to independently solve tasks of their professional activity at a state-of-the-art level.

Graduates are employed by the top enterprises and organizations located in Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, including Northern Capital Gateway LLC, Elektromera Research Institute, the Institute for Problems in Mechanical Engineering of the Russian Academy of Sciences, JSC «CSPA «LENINETZ,» 419 Aircraft Repair Plant, Baltic Crane Plant, and others.
