Accreditation. State accreditation. Professional-public accreditation.

Awards and achievements. The department’s students take an active part and win prizes in the contests at different levels. They are the winners of the international contest of research papers of young researchers, students and PhD students “System Analysis and Management in Economic and Engineering Systems,” participants of the International Programming Contest ICPC, prize-winners of the Open International Students Internet Olympiad in Informatics, and participants of the industry-specific accelerator of Rosatom State Corporation.

Teaching staff. The teachers at the department are the key mathematics and informatics scientists. More than 75% of the teaching staff hold academic degrees. The leading employees and heads of IT companies are engaged in the learning process. The research findings are published in the highly cited and scholarly important international and Russian journals.

Facilities and resources. Modern applied software is used for experimental result processing, modeling and programming in the learning process. The educational laboratories are fitted with high-performance computing hardware. All computers have internet access, access to the electronic library systems, electronic resources of scientific publishing houses such as Elsevier and Springer, and scientific indexing systems Web of Science.

Education. Students gain knowledge and develop their abilities and skills not only during the educational process but also in the university laboratories where they solve the tasks of informatization and automation of manufacturing systems using state-of-the-art information technologies such as artificial neural networks and blockchain technologies. Research. The department’s students and leading teachers have completed the study of electromagnetic radiation scattering by nonspherical particles. The research findings are published in the world’s leading journals. Master’s students conduct research related to applied artificial intelligence, artificial neural networks, 3D modeling, and the use of blockchain technologies in manufacturing activity.

Competitive advantages. Bachelor’s and Master’s students gain not only academic knowledge but also practical skills when undertaking educational internships and work placements.

Employers and employment. Students undertake internships at the organizations mainly specializing in software engineering, at the information technology departments of the organizations and enterprises at different levels, including Ravenstvo, Kaspersky Laboratory, Omega, and others. The department’s graduates can work as information systems specialists, information technology project managers, software engineering managers, systems analysts, and informatics and computer engineering R&D specialists.
