Awards and achievements. The program successfully underwent state accreditation in 2020 and international professional-public accreditation carried out by the National Accreditation Council in 2017.
The Russian Federation Government scholarships (2017), the grants of the Mashuk North Caucasus Youth Forum, the grants of the UMNIK Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in Science and Technology; scholarships of the contest of the Vladimir Potanin Foundation; scholarships of the Administration of Stavropol.
Teaching staff. All teachers have academic degrees. The department employs three Doctors and six Candidates of Sciences, one teacher is a holder of the titles of Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the RF and Honored Worker of Science and Education of the Russian Academy of Natural History. The representatives of the real sector of еру economy and foreign professors from Jordan and the USA are engaged in the educational program delivery.
Facilities and resources. The research and learning laboratory of environmental analysis, the learning laboratory of industrial ecology and design, the REC Geological and Mineralogical Museum, the Resource Center for Aerospace and Geoinformation Technologies, lecture halls equipped with multimedia, self-access centers, computer classrooms.
Research. The promising research areas: rational nature management in the system of regional environmental safety, landscape ecology and biodiversity, aerospace monitoring technologies for natural processes.
Education. Teachers use state-of-the-art educational technologies: multimedia lectures, business games, the project method, case technologies, etc.
Strategic partners. The Southern Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, A.N. Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Jordan University of Science and Technology, the Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol gas transportation company, the Directorate of the Federal Supervisory Natural Resources Management Service for the Stavropol Territory, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Stavropol Territory.
International projects and programs. NCFU and Jordan University of Science and Technology implement the joint research project "Restoration of the Territories, Contaminated with Industrial Waste, in the North Caucasus Recreation Areas."
