Accreditation. State accreditation (2018).

Awards and achievements. Students are prize-winners of all-Russian and international animation, computer and artistic graphics contests: the Dialog annual contest, as part of the International Graphic Design Forum, the Victory Chronicle International Media Project, the D-200 contest exhibitions, Russian Archetype, Creative Spring.

Teaching staff. The teachers are current designers and artists, members of creative unions, laureates and diploma winners of creative contests and festivals. Teachers’ creative works are a part of collections of leading Russian and foreign museums, galleries and cultural centers. The teachers of major subjects have extensive professional experience in animation and computer graphics. Visiting young specialists combine teaching at the institute with working in the game industry of Russian and foreign companies. Students are trained by art directors, concept artists, level modellers, designers and animators, employees of studios such as Saber Interactive, Belyi Shar, LESTA, Wargaming, Ciliz, Smeshariki, Sakhanimatsia, engaged, in particular, in projects such as Warfair, Bowling Crew, Great Grimoire.

Facilities and resources. The university has classrooms and specialized classrooms with state-of-the-art equipment, computer classrooms with Apple Macintosh computers, graphic tablets and LCD TVs, a video- and motion picture studio with chromakey and video production equipment, a typography workshop with a digital printing machine and a plotter, printmaking workshops with two etching presses, an art studio with a 3D printer, painting and drawing classrooms with easels, plaster models and the props; lecture halls with a projector, a screen and speakers, a training aids department with a network-attached storage.

Education. The classical realistic school of drawing and painting combines with state-of-the-art technologies for creating visual content for computer games. Students successfully learn the material on Unreal Engine and UE4 programs. Students consolidate the acquired knowledge during practical intramural classes.

Competitive advantages. As part of the program, 2D and 3D visualization of game worlds are created and animated at a high aesthetic level based on the realistic school of drawing and painting. Highly qualified teaching staff including the industry professionals and students’ close interaction with the game industry also allows the university to train highly qualified, competitive and sought-after specialists in this field.

Employers and employment. Students undertake work placements at firms and studios of the industry employers with subsequent employment. Graduates successfully work at studios such as Smeshariki, Melnitsa, TilingPoint, DragonFly, Qmobi, Digital Aoms, Wargaming, Matryoshka Games, and others.
