Awards and achievements of the educational program. Following the decision of the Accreditation Center of the Association for Engineering Education of Russia the program in Metallurgy (Steel Rolling) was accredited for the period of five years, which is confirmed by the certificate of professional-public accreditation issued by the Association for Engineering Education of Russia.
Nosov Magnitogorsk State Technical University also offers a Bachelor's program in Metallurgy.
Teaching staff. All the teaching staff involved in the program delivery hold academic degrees and/or titles. The faculty comprises 23 teachers, including eight Professors, Doctors of Sciences, and 15 Associate Professors, Candidates of Sciences. This is a leading department of the university in terms of research and the scope of R&D activities. The current staff are distinguishable for their ingenuity, abundance of ideas and research originality. The university alumni make most of the teaching staff.
University partners within the educational program. The department’s long-term partners include Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works and the MMK-Metiz metallurgic enterprise.
Students’ achievements. Many graduates from the program pursue their postgraduate degree in Technology of Materials, in the major of metal treatment under pressure.
Facilities and resources. Seventeen laboratories with the following specializations support the program delivery: rolling, powder metallurgy and heat treatment, metal ware, mechanical testing, materials engineering and anticorrosion protection of metals, metallography, optical microscopy and others. The classrooms are equipped with multimedia equipment. Non-resident students are accommodated in a comfortable dormitory. Students are welcome to use sports and recreation facilities, a health center and a clinic. They are actively involved in extensive health improving and cultural activities.
Opportunities for students. Students do their practical training at steel and metal ware production sites of Magnitogorsk and the Ural region.
Employment prospects. Industrial engineer, design engineer, research engineer, research fellow, lead engineer at a design office, an R&D or engineering department, a metal testing laboratory.
