Awards and achievements of the educational program. In order to implement the educational robotics development concept, the Industrial University of Tyumen in cooperation with the ProjectLab Center of Robotics and Automation Control Systems established at the Tyumen Technopark has been providing training for Bachelor students in the new Robotics and Flexible Workcells program of the Technological Machines and Equipment field since 2016.
Industrial University of Tyumen offers some other best educational programs in the field of Metallurgy, Engineering and Processing of Materials:
Teaching staff. The educational process is implemented by 35 teachers including six Doctors of Sciences and 22 Candidates of Sciences.
University partners within the educational program. The key machine-building enterprises such as the Tyumen Engine Builders company; GMS Neftemash, an oil equipment supplier; Sibneftemash, an oil and gas equipment supplier; Tyumen Machinery and Repair Plant, etc.
Alumni’s achievements. The Department of Machines and Tools has always boasted a high quality of specialists’ training. The alumni employment rate is 100%.
Alumni include winners of all-Russian conferences and contests of graduation theses. Many alumni hold key positions at machine-building enterprises of the region.
Facilities and resources. The degree-granting department has six specialized laboratories: Shaping Processes and Cutting Tools; Machinery Production Equipment; CAD-systems; Engineering Systems Control; Metrology and Engineering Measurements; Standardization and Certification.
Students take an active part in scientific research, sports and creative life of the university. Non-resident students are accommodated in a comfortable dormitory.
Opportunities for students. Bachelor graduates can pursue a Master’s degree in Technological Machines and Equipment, and then postgraduate studies in Machine Building. During specialist training the department takes into account employers’ suggestion that design engineering, maintenance (repair) and programming of robots, mechatronic systems and NC machine tools should be emphasized, which is stipulated by the requirements of the automated machinery production full cycle. During work placement students get acquainted with state-of-the-art equipment at manufacturing sites of enterprises of the city and region.
Employment prospects. Design engineer, structural engineer, production engineer, operator of robotic centers and NC machine tools.
