Teaching staff. Training is provided by the highly qualified teachers including 3 Doctors of Sciences and 10 Candidates of Sciences, three Assistant Professors.
University partners within the educational program. The Arsenal+ IT company, the Tyumen Pribor automation company, the Sibnefteavtomatika flow-metering equipment manufacturer, the ASU Tehnologia design and installation company, the Transneft Siberia oil transportation company, the ViraRealtime automation company; foreign automation companies: National Instruments (USA), Festo (Germany), Valmet Automation (Finland). With the support of companies the department established registered laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment, made information stands, created a mini-museum of computational tools.
Students’ and alumni’s achievements. Students are frequent winners and prize winners of regional and international Olympiads in Mathematics, Programming, Automation, winners of the professional skill competition, the Miss IT of the Tyumen Region contest. The best students can be eligible for personal and government scholarships. Alumni undertake their internship and are employed at oil and gas companies such as Giprotyumenneftegaz, Gazprom Transgaz Surgut, NK Rosneft, LUKOIL, Surgutneftegaz, SIBUR Holding; the Schlumberger oilfield services company, Halliburton, Zapsibkombank, and others. Alumni include holders of the title of Master of Sport in biathlon, kickboxing, rock climbing.

The department has eight laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment, two simulation laboratories using controllers and computers with uploaded specialized software, computer classrooms and lecture halls with multimedia equipment.
Opportunities for students. Students undertake their internship at specialized enterprises. Students can also show initiative when choosing a place for an internship. Individual education paths and specificity of enterprises are also taken into consideration.
Students can participate in academic exchange programs, undertake study placement at Russian and foreign universities.
