Awards and achievements of the educational program. The university structure includes the one-of-a-kind Faculty of Veterinary Biology which trains biologists specializing in veterinary medicine.
The Biotechnology educational program is aimed at training specialists who have forward-looking competencies in the field of biomedicine and biotechnology.
Teaching staff. The educational process is delivered by the highly qualified teachers. Most of them have academic degrees.
The dean of the faculty is N.P. Lysenko, Doctor of Biological Sciences, a laureate of the Russian Federation Government Award in Science and Technology and in Education, Head of the Department of Radiation Biology and Virology named after Academicians A.D. Belov and V.N. Siurin, Professor.
Academy partners within the educational program. Cooperation with foreign universities allows students to attend lectures given by German and French professors, undertake study placement abroad.
Students’ and alumni’s achievements. Bachelor graduates can pursue a Master’s degree in the following fields: Molecular Biology and Immunology, Radiation Biology and Biophysics, Biochemistry and Bionanotechnologies, Biotechnological Production.
Alumni are in demand at agricultural and bio-industry enterprises, at biological, veterinary, medical research institutes.
Facilities and resources. During study and research work students utilize the resources of the laboratories of the departments of virology, microbiology, biotechnology and immunology, radiation biology. Students do research at the VetOnco innovative veterinary center established by the Department of Radiation Biology and Virology.
There are six comfortable dormitories on the territory of the academy. There is a sports complex with free specialized sports clubs for students and postgraduate students of the academy.
Opportunities for students. Students undertake their internship in Germany, Austria, the USA. Students come from all regions of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Israel, India.
Employment prospects. The Faculty of Veterinary Biology trains specialists for bioindustry enterprises (biofactories, veterinary drug manufacturers), research institutes and laboratories, specialists in the field of biotechnology, genetic engineering, molecular biology and ecology, laboratory workers (clinical diagnostic laboratories, PCR), biotechnologists, biotechnology engineers, chemical biologists, research fellows, pharmacists, bacteriologists, virologists, process engineers, validation specialists, and others.
