Awards and achievements of the educational program. Official state accreditation (2015) and professional-public accreditation (2017; the accrediting authority—the National Centre for Public Accreditation). In 2001, the leading researchers of the department (A.G. Khramtsov, I.A. Evdokimov, S.A. Riabtseva) were awarded the Science and Technology Prize from the RF Government. The teachers of the department win grants (the grant of the Russian Federation President, 2013-2014) and participate in numerous projects (the pilot project of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, 2014-2016).
North-Caucasus Federal University also offers a Master's program in Biotechnology.
Teaching staff. Six Doctors of Sciences (one Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, three Academicians of the National Academy of Food Safety, one Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, one holder of the title of Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, one holder of the title Honored Worker of Higher Education of the Russian Federation), 17 Candidates of Sciences.
University partners within the educational program. Dmitry Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia (Moscow), Kemerovo Institute of Food Science and Technology (university), Gorsky State Agrarian University (Vladikavkaz), Belarusian State University, the University of Milan (Italy), the All-Russian Research Institute of Dairy Industry, Volga Research Institute of Production and Processing of Meat and Dairy Products (Volgograd), Stavropol Research Anti-Plague Institute of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing of the Russian Federation, the All-Russian Research Institute of Sheep and Goat Breeding (Stavropol). Industrial partners: Stavropol Dairy Plant, MEGA ProfiLine company, Stavropol Brewing Plant, Stavropol Biofactory, the Biocom pharmaceutical company, the SciTECH research and production association.
Students’ and alumni’s achievements. Students regularly participate in national and international conferences and trade shows.
Facilities and resources. NCFU has all the facilities and resources required to offer its students proper learning opportunities.
Opportunities for students. Graduates are in great demand at food and bio-industry enterprises, at various agencies for consumer rights protection, and the respective research institutions.
Students get their field placement at the leading enterprises of Belarus, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Germany as well as Stavropol and the Stavropol Territory, at the Center of Biological Engineering of NCFU. Students can also join academic mobility programs (Erasmus Mundus), apply for internal NCFU grants as well as international academic projects in cooperation with partner universities (Belarusian State University, the Technical University of Dresden (Germany), Vienna University of Technology (Austria), the University of Reading (UK)).
Employment prospects. Process engineer, engineer, foreman, technician at food and bio-industry enterprises, research worker at a research institute, inspector at supervisory agencies.
