Programme presentation. A catering technologist is a creative occupation, which embodies ambitious ideas in the sphere of food production technology and food presentation.

In the framework of the educational programme, the Faculty carries out training of specialists who are able to organize small and large catering establishments at a high level, to conduct research in assortment development and improvement of catering production technology and to monitor the quality of production and services. Students may also get a second economic education at the University.

The Faculty of Technology maintains close cooperation in the research sphere with the Moscow State University of Food Production, the KubanStateTechnologicalUniversity, the RussianStateAgrarianUniversity, the Precaspian Institute of Biological Resources (the Dagestan Scientific Centre, RAS), the Moscow State University of Design and Technology and the Moscow State Stroganov Academy of Industrial and Applied Arts.

Teaching staff. Highly-qualified specialists whose activities correspond to this educational programme work at the University. Teachers from 5 departments (over 60 teachers), among them are 13 professors including 9 Doctors of Science, over 40 Candidates of Science, assistant professors and senior teachers participate in the educational process.

Interaction with employers. The partner connections between the University and the employers of the Republic make an important part of the study process. Many students have work experience in best enterprises of the sphere of production technology of the Republic of Dagestan, some senior students work in these organizations, undertake internships in consulting centres of Moscow and participate in regional skills competitions.

Qualified specialists in the sphere of food production are in high demand in the labour market that is why graduates do not experience problems with employment. At present many graduates work as administrators, managers of large enterprises of food industry, heads of production departments and main specialists of ministries and authorities in different regions of the Russian Federation.
