Awards and achievements. The program was recognized as the best in the sixth phase of the project Best Educational Programs of Innovative Russia.
Facilities and resources. LeicaFlexLine TS06 plus R500 electronic total stations, Leica GS08 satellite navigation receiver, Leica Sprinter digital levels, locator (DIGITEX 100t generator, DIGICAT 550i receiver), 3T5KP and 2T5KP optical theodolites, VegaTeo 5B and 4 T30P electronic theodolites, slats, target marks, benchmarks, geodetic exhibition equipment.
Teaching staff. Training is provided by five Professors (Doctors of Sciences), 35 Associate Professors, one senior research fellow, and five Assistant Professors with work experience at specialized enterprises. Production managers are also engaged in the program delivery.
Research. Geodetic deformation monitoring of tower-type structures and tanks with the help of laser scanning. Planning and organizing of engineering and geodetic works with the help of WUNDERLIST software.
Education. Interactive technologies are used such as case technologies, project method, portfolio, intellectual business games. A technology of practical module learning and personal educational trajectory is implemented. It uses three modules: "Tools and Technology of Performing Geodetic Works for Creating Geodetic Reference Networks "Geoinformation Mapping Technologies," "Satellite Measurements-based Geospatial Analysis."
Strategic partners. Siberian Geodesic Company, Multidisciplinary Innovative Fuel and Energy Complex Company, Kadastr-T, SoyuzNefteGaz, Geokad Tyumen, IPIGAZ-North, Urban Planning and Engineering-Construction Surveys, Tyumen Engineering and Construction Surveys, KAPREMONT 72. The students have industrial practice under a contract with the following companies: Tyumen Regional Geodesic Center, Mostostroy 11, Gazprom Production Yamburg, Samotlorneftegaz, Sibtekhnoburproyekt.
International projects and programs. Frequent publishing in international scientific digests on the following topics: "Methodology for the Development of a Geoinformation Project in the System of Ensuring the Rational Use of Natural Resources of the Land and Property Complex of the Northern Territories," "Landscape-ecological Analysis and Anthropogenic Disturbances of Varandey Oil Field."
Competitive advantages. The Department is the only one in the Tyumen region that provides for the Northern territories of the Tyumen Region and Krasnoyarsk Territory.
Assistance and support for international students and teachers. The university meets international students, offers them dormitory accommodation assistance, helps them solve daily life and social problems.
