Teaching staff. Training is provided by two Professors, four Associate Professors, three Senior Teachers, three Assistants. The leading specialists in art and jewelry production are also engaged in the teaching process. The scientific school under the direction of Liubov Zhukova is listed on the Register of leading scientific and academic schools of the Committee for Science and Higher Education of Saint Petersburg.
Facilities and resources. The laboratories are equipped with computers and state-of-the-art software under the licensing agreement with the Delta Camshaft company (USA). During research and technology internships and work placement, students implement their projects in the material using state-of-the-art industrial equipment at manufacturing sites.
Research. The key research areas include creation of design objects using state-of-the-art materials processing technologies, development of jewelry design using information technologies, creation of flash exposure objects using modern techniques of applied arts and computer technologies.
Strategic partners. The Bezar Engineering Center, the Lasertech joint venture company, the Russian Museum of Ethnography, the Arina jewelry company, Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University, the Russian Gemstones jewelry factory, the Kaholong Jewelry House, the AgAu parlor, and other enterprises.
International projects and programs. The university cooperates with the AgAu jewelry design parlor under the supervision of the Siska Design company (Sweden) in the field of academic and scientific student and staff mobility. Every year the university organizes and hosts the International Congress “Design. Materials. Technology.”
Competitive advantages. Students win contests, exhibitions, international and all-Russian Olympiads, and grants from the Russian Federation President and the Committee for Science and Higher Education of the Saint Petersburg Government.
