Teaching staff. Training is provided by highly qualified specialists icluding ten Professors, Doctors of Sciences, 12 Associate Professors, Candidates of Sciences as well as Senior Teachers, Assistants and dual jobholders from among employees of specialized enterprises.

Facilities and resources. In partnership with the ILIM Group, as part of the largest innovative project “Larch,” the Department of Cellulose and Composite Materials Technology established the unique laboratory facilities for academic and research activities.

Research. Research in conducted in the following areas: chemistry of organophosphorous compounds and plant-based organic compounds; synthesis of macromolecular compounds to be used as flocculants and precipitation agents for different purposes as part of the import substitution program; production of polymeric nanocomposite materials and investigation of their properties; creation of biodegradable composite materials based on added-value wood processing products; development of high-quality chalk-coated paper production using hardwood pulp.

Strategic partners. The degree-granting departments actively cooperate with Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov (Arkhangelsk), Dmitry Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia, Perm National Research Polytechnic University, Lappeenranta University of Technology (Finland). They closely collaborate with the Ilim Group, pulp and paper mills of Svetogorsk, Kondopoga, Balakhna, Kama, Bratsk, Sukhonsky, and others, the Saint Petersburg Cardboard and Printing Mill, the Vyborg Pulp and Paper Mill, with numerous paper mills as well as the Goznak enterprise.

The program is aimed at training highly qualified engineers for enterprises and organizations working in the field of chemical engineering, pulp and paper and woodworking industry. Graduates are competitive thanks to highly qualified teaching staff and the leading scientific schools as well as close cooperation with the industry.
