Achievements. The program successfully underwent state accreditation in 2020 and professional-public accreditation (the Union of Translators of Russia) in 2017. The department has the Stavropol Regional Office of the Union of Translators of Russia. The department held the International research conference as part of the grant from the Russian Foundation for Humanitarian Research. There is a well-developed network of academic student mobility.

Teaching staff. The program is delivered by 14 teachers. All of them have an academic degree of Doctor or Candidate of Sciences. The institute develops academic staff mobility. Researchers from Russia and Germany are also engaged in the teaching process.

Facilities and resources. The department has a center of German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). There are innovative student societies where Master students conduct research and do theses by request of organizations.

Research. The research area is isomorphic and allomorphic features of language systems in the context of translation.

Education. Teachers use state-of-the-art educational models and technologies. There is a multimedia classroom with a simultaneous interpreting booth.

Strategic partners. Partner enterprises: Monocrystal, Concern Energomera, English House, Tour-Hotel, the Vympel transnational joint-stock corporation, MK-Nefteprodukt, ministries of the Stavropol Territory and many other organizations. Foreign partner universities: Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, University of Hamburg, Humboldt University of Berlin (Germany).

International projects and programs. NCFU seeks international cooperation for sharing experience, education and internships of students and PhD students. Researchers regularly take part in DAAD summer courses and programs. Every year students undertake study placements at foreign partner universities.

Competitive advantages. The institute delivers professional retraining programs. Graduates can do research and work as teachers at educational institutions (first of all, at universities) and fulfill themselves in literary and specialized translation, editorial activity, project activity at cultural institutions, consultancy in language and national policy and interethnic relations at administrative institutions.
